I'm Antti-Jussi Kovalainen and I like to design beautiful, usable UIs, write kickass code and take photos. These are my passions. This is my website, my playground, my domain. Here I will show you my secrets - what I can do. You can call me ajk.

photos.ajk.im

I started a photo blog over at photos.ajk.im. I also put a link to it in the menu. For now, it’s just a simple interface to view photos that I’ve chosen as some of my best. You can also view some simple metadata about the photos. There is also a possibility to “Like” the photos via the heart icon, and I intend to add commenting some day.

flickr integration would be great too — I would like to have the same photos over at the photo blog and on flickr.

Slight Realignment

August 27, 2010 · No comments

Awesome Gallery

Awesome Gallery1 is an extremely simple and stylish photo gallery created with PHP. It consists of one single file and does not require database. It’s easy to set-up and fairly easy to use. That being said, the feature list is scarse and it certainly won’t cook you dinner. It will just show photos in a nice way.

Flickr: A New Photo Experience

June 24, 2010 · No comments

Noticed this today when checking my stats. Bigger photos, clearer navigation, smooth buttons. EXIF info is now in the top left corner, so that took a few seconds. Flickr is one of the sites I always visit when starting a new web design. The design is that good.

A List Apart: Fluid Grids

Recently had to create a fluid layout and this article came in real handy.

Summer’s here

May 24, 2010 · No comments

The summer really started with a blast. A blast of warming rays from the sun that is! We’ve had a full week of +20°C weather – pretty much perfect shooting weather. Here are some first photos of summer from my flickr stream.
